The Humanities Academic Apprenticeship Network (HUMAAN) is a project run by the Humanities EDU which aims to improve the numbers of students moving from undergraduate into postgraduate study in the Humanities, particularly (but not exclusively) for students from population groups classified as  ‘previously disadvantaged’. The program pairs promising undergraduate student with established academics who volunteer for one-on-one mentorship with students over the course of their second and/or third year and/or fourth years of undergraduate study. In addition to overseeing the project and recruiting academics to join, the EDU provides group support for students in the form of workshops which cover information on application processes; on funding options; on the shape of the Honours year; on research literacies.
